Meet Dr. Spenser Morton

Dr. Spenser Morton is a northeasterner who just might be a midwesterner at heart. Originally from West Chester, Pennsylvania, Dr. Morton earned his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from The Pennsylvania State University. From there, he attended medical school at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, completing his residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

SELECTED memberships and honors

Dr. Morton is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, and the Arnold P. Gold Humanism Society. He has participated in clinical research and has published several articles with a focus on how cancer and ocular tumors can affect vision.


A specialist in refractive cataract surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), Dr. Morton spent two years serving patients at a practice in Eau Claire, Wisconsin before joining Vance Thompson Vision’s South Sioux City, NE clinic. Dr. Morton continues to provide subspecialty care in Advanced Cataract surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery to patients of South Sioux City and surrounding the tri-state area.


Dr. Morton and his wife, Lauren, have three children, Aris, Vera, and Violet. When he isn’t spending time with them, Spenser enjoys archery, hunting, sport shooting, running, cycling, hiking, and snowboarding.
